Badshah was born as Aditya Prateek Singh Sisodia in a culturally rich family in New Delhi. He displayed an affinity for music early on, but initially pursued academics — enrolling in civil engineering at Punjab Engineering College (PEC), Chandigarh. During his time at PEC, exposure to Punjabi and hip-hop music inspired him to start writing rap.
He began his musical journey in the underground rap crew Mafia Mundeer, alongside Yo Yo Honey Singh.
