Growing up in a modest setting in Kallakurichi, Murugadoss developed an early interest in cinema. Despite facing financial constraints, he pursued his passion for filmmaking. After being rejected by the Madras Film Institute, he began his career as an assistant writer for P. Kalaimani, contributing to the Tamil film Madurai Meenakshi. His big break came when he directed Dheena (2001), starring Ajith Kumar, which marked the beginning of his successful directorial journey.

Personal Life

Murugadoss married Ramya in 2005, and the couple has two children. His younger brother, Dileepan, is an actor who debuted in Murugadoss’ production Vathikuchi (2013). Dileepan has since appeared in films like Kaala (2018) and Kuthoosi (2019).
