Raised in a musically inclined family—her father a singer/musical director and mother a Kathak dancer—Akasa Singh was drawn to performance early. She joined Mika Singh’s band at age 17, the only female performer among ten male singers. In 2014, she shot to national attention on India’s Raw Star, mentored by Himesh Reshammiya, who helped her land her playback debut in Sanam Teri Kasam (2016) with “Kheech Meri Photo”.
