PersonalHailing from Bhatapara, Anuj Sharma chose a creative path early—joining school plays, village theatre, and eventually radio. After a Master’s in History from Pandit Ravishankar Shukla University, he declined a corporate job and embraced Chhattisgarhi cinema. His debut in Mor Chhaihan Bhuiyan (2000) faced record-breaking box office runs—screening 8 shows/day for 27 consecutive weeks—making him the first superstar of modern Chhattisgarhi cinema.
Over the years, Anuj acted in 40+ regional films across Chhattisgarhi, Bhojpuri, Sambalpuri, Bundelkhandi, and Gujarati languages, earning four Best Actor awards and recognition as a playback singer. He also hosted 125+ TV shows and was the first Chhattisgarhi FM RJ. In 2014, the Government of India honored him with the Padma Shri for outstanding work in arts and culture.
